High Alpine Photography Retreat

  • Diavolazza Switzerland (map)

An unprecedented approach in a photography workshop brought to you by acclaimed Swiss mountain photographer Jürg Kaufmann and founder of glaciers.today.

This three-day retreat is set entirely in the high alpine surrounding of the Engadine glaciers around the stunning Bernina mountain ridge, this exclusive three-day photography retreat has its focus completely on quality and concept, from preparation, through capture to curating.

You’ll immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the Swiss Alps while being nestled at an altitude of 3.000 meters in the Diavolazza mountain station, with the comfort of a typical hotel.

This experience combines the art of fine art photography with the comfort of an alpine retreat, offering both passionate and seasoned enthusiasts the exceptional opportunity to refine their skills under the guidance of professional photographers.

The goal is to take significant time on location, allowing us to observe, revisit, and get a deeper, more meaningful understanding of the landscape and the light. Throughout the workshop participants will be able to create a carefully curated, selection of photographs that reflect their vision.

Jürg and Manuel will guide you through the workshop and be available for one-on-one critiques as well as assist through the creative process both on location and in group sessions and enlightening discussions.

Daily sessions between photography opportunities will delve in-depth into the philosophy, theory, and practice of fine art photography, no matter if you’re using digital or analog equipment to create your set of images.

The unique large selection of images from the glaciers.today project will be part of the sessions to discuss the impact of light on the mountains and photography.

Truly an in-depth experience that will enrich and transform you as a photographic artist.
