Lionheart H1
Original lines: Burgess/Stephens / Modified lines: Hoek Design & Naval Architects

Lionheart stands as the inaugural modern J Class replica constructed from aluminium, making its debut on the water in July 2010. The individual who commissioned JH1, the Lionheart, was a returning client of Andre Hoek, driven by a singular ambition: to construct the swiftest J Class yacht ever.
To achieve this, Hoek utilized their proprietary VPP (velocity prediction program) software, analyzing all pre-existing J Class designs prior to carrying out CFD and traditional tank testing with 6-metre-long models. Among a collection of seven designs originally proposed by Burgess and Stephens to Harold Vanderbilt in 1936, Hoek singled out the J Class Ranger for its exceptional qualities. It was this esteemed design that provided the foundation for Lionheart.
