SUNRISE FROM THE DIAVOLEZZA
Diavolezza is known for its unique views of the eternal ice and the highest peaks in the Eastern Alps - including Piz Palù, Bellavista, Piz Bernina (4,049 m above sea level) and Piz Morteratch. High-mountain tourers appreciate the Diavolezza mountain station as a starting point for more extensive tours in the Bernina region, and tours over the Pers and Morteratsch glacier
This image was taken from the Diavolezza in the morning hours of December 2022.
The image is in a very high resolution composed of over 10 high-resolution photos, resulting in a photo with a high level of detail. The image can be printed up to a width of about 8 meters, with impressive details.
For over 10 years, I have been photographing our glaciers and their surroundings for the project glaciers.today.
It impresses me every time again to observe the influence of climate change on our nature.
This picture is part of the collection with a limited edition of 15 copies. Each of these images is produced according to the wishes of the customer.
Many little details make the difference
It is a long way from an idea and imagination to photograph a 3-8 meters wide strong image and prepare it so that it inspires and motivates us every day for many years.
The challenges lie in the details. Serious planning is fundamental, the weather, the light, and being at the right moment in the right place with the right equipment, back in the studio, the editing, printing on the appropriate fine art paper, and finally, framing the photo.
When all these steps are precisely coordinated, the initial idea becomes a unique, timeless work.
