A Journey with Glaciers: Tracking Change through the Lense

The journey of the projcet glaciers.today began 3-4 years ago, sparked by an idea to photograph these icy giants over a longer period.

I often say, "Glaciers are giant thermometers," their transformations bearing stark testament to the influence of climate change.

The idea gradually took shape through countless hours of designing, adjusting, and engaging with specialists, camera manufacturers, and potential sponsors. Today, I'm proud to see two cameras doing their job on the magnificent Diavolezza.

Each image captured tells its unique tale of change. From the glow of dawn to the warm colors of sunset, these photos reflect the breathtaking grandeur of the glaciers and their ever-evolving moods. These changes become especially notable during these hot summer days, further emphasizing the urgency of our mission. Soon we will be able to create never seem high-resolution timelapse videos showing the movement and the retreat of these giants.

Every step of this project, now captured in the lens, is a testimony to a collective effort. I extend my gratitude to our sponsor, Lunor, our location partner, Diavolezza, and our technology partner, Avisec. Their unwavering support and belief in this initiative have been instrumental in making it a reality.

I invite you to join me on this mission of discovery. Through the lens, we witness the reality of our changing world – a reality that urges us to consider our impact, compelling us to rethink our actions.
