Behind the Scenes with ARD: The Impact of Climate on Glaciers

Early November, just before the first heavy snowfall blanketed the Alps, I had the unique opportunity to collaborate with a team from ARD, a renowned German TV channel. We focused on creating a documentary that sheds light on the profound impacts of climate change on glaciers. This feature not only highlights the Glaciers.Today project but also includes insights from Matthis Huss, a respected Professor of Glaciology at ETH, about the uncertain future of these icy giants. During our time filming, we uncovered a significant new landslide on the Tschierva Glacier – a stark consequence of thawing permafrost. I invite you to watch this enlightening video and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges our glaciers face.
