Mike Baer: A Journey Beyond Boundaries

As a descendant of the renowned Zurich banking dynasty and the great-grandson of Julius Baer, Mike could have easily followed in his family's footsteps. Instead, he chose a different path, working in financial institutions in Hong Kong, London, Frankfurt, and Tokyo before eventually founding his own bank, the MBaer Merchant Bank, in 2018.

Mike's journey extends beyond banking. He's a man who has constantly sought and pushed his limits. A former chain smoker, he decided to become a marathon runner 12 years ago. Today, he's not just a marathon expert who competes in four to five races a year, but he's also completed marathons on all continents and at the North and South Poles.

His determination is reflected in his professional life. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Mike held on to his goal of building a new bank, accepting what couldn't be changed and persevering. His strategy to serve entrepreneurs and their families as a smaller, more agile bank seems to be paying off.

A unique aspect of the MBaer Merchant Bank is that employees can decide how much vacation they want to take. Mike believes in rewarding hard work and trusts his team to take responsibility for their time off.

The MBaer Merchant Bank also supports the rowing team "Swiss Raw", reflecting Mike's belief in setting high goals and pushing boundaries.

Mike Baer's story is a testament to the power of stepping out of one's comfort zone, setting high goals, and working tirelessly to achieve them. His journey is a reminder that success often comes to those who dare to be different.
