Higher Low & Higher High
The year is slowly coming to an end. In a few days, we will open a new chapter.
2025 will stay with me as a year of highs and lows. I believe that is exactly what our society is experiencing right now, or perhaps what it must and is allowed to experience. The speed at which things are changing is unprecedented. For a long time, climate was at the center of many discussions. Today, additional topics have come into focus: polarization and artificial intelligence are just two of them.
In the stock market, but also in life, we speak of highs and lows. As long as the lows come in at a higher level, the trend points upward. That is exactly what I see in this image with Sella and Piz Glüschaint. Behind them, Monte Disgrazia rises out of the mist. Its name does not inspire confidence, and yet it feels steady and calm, like a rock in the surf.
Every day we are confronted with enormous amounts of information. Finding orientation becomes harder. Clarity does not come from even more data, but from a shift in perspective. Only when we are willing to change our viewpoint above the clouds do we recognize connections and a sense of direction.
Photography and art can do exactly that. They do not force an answer, but they open space for new ways of seeing. They inspire, bring order, and create moments of clarity in a complex world.
I am curious to see what 2026 has in store for us.
I wish everyone happy holidays and a successful start to the new year, with openness, confidence, and the willingness to lift our gaze.
